Josh Reed is the CEO of VOXO, a ~$9M ARR com­pa­ny that sim­pli­fies busi­ness com­mu­ni­ca­tions for small busi­ness­es. He shares how the Coach­ing Group has helped him, as a CEO from a non-tech­ni­cal back­ground, grow his com­pa­ny and his own skillset.

Since join­ing the group, a num­ber of things have improved. First, our sales trac­tion has increased. Pri­or, we were hav­ing strug­gles with it and now we are grow­ing at 35% and not only are we grow­ing in a healthy way, but we’re grow­ing in a way that’s repeat­able, with repeat­able process­es, and it’s scal­able. Vic­tor has been instru­men­tal in help­ing us get to that point.

Some of the ways Vic­tor has helped me in my role as CEO is under­stand­ing what to fix next. At our stage, there’s an end­less num­ber of chal­lenges and issues to fix and some­times just under­stand­ing what the next thing to focus on is impor­tant. Vic­tor helps with pri­or­i­ti­za­tion.

My back­ground is not tech­nol­o­gy, so there’s some knowl­edge gaps at times. Vic­tor has a unique way of relat­ing to peo­ple like me in this sit­u­a­tion and explain­ing things in a very sim­ple way that is easy to under­stand for those who aren’t from a tech­nol­o­gy back­ground; that’s been very help­ful for me.

Net­work­ing with oth­er SaaS CEOs at my stage has helped me a lot… just see things from dif­fer­ent per­spec­tives, under­stand like what it takes, what does it look like?  Net­work­ing with those oth­er SaaS CEOs is real­ly help­ful in under­stand­ing things from oth­er per­spec­tives.
